Shorts for every shape
Summer is here and you are facing that dilemma again, ‘’which shorts will suit me?’’ First of all, we are not fruit! but these descriptions are the most memorable. Secondly, we all have unique bodies, so we don’t all fall into these categories perfectly, your body-type might overlap and that’s completely fine. so here are some tips that will help you narrow down all the choices out there.
Go for a length that you’re most comfortable with Find the right waistband, shorts with a wide waistband define your midsection, while a high-raise waist instantly elongates your frame
If you want to show off your derriere, wear a bright fun colour and if you want to keep it understated, go for neutral and dark tones, whatever you decide just have fun and be comfortable with your choice
If you want to create an illusion of longer legs, wear a pair of barely there mules with your shorts.
I am going to be honest with you. I am a newbie to the world of blogging, and I don’t have a photo for every description of shorts. There is a lot of red tape surrounding images I can use, BUT I wasn’t going to let that stop me giving you style tips. If you are not sure of any of the short’s descriptions, feel free to google them.
Bermuda shorts are a good choice. They will slim your legs and thighs, also choose ones that have a good stretch in the fabric for added comfort.
A pair of high-rise shorts are also a good choice, they will accentuate your waist
Darker colours will be more flattering
You have an athletic frame, so Invest in a pair of cut offs. If you have toned pins, there is never a better time to show them off and make them take centre stage. If you want to go one step further, wear a bright pop of colour or a fresh crisp white pair.
Chino shorts or paper-bag waisted shorts would work for you as they show off your waist and accentuate your full hips. These are usually found in lightweight cotton blends. You can go for mid-length or knee-length.
Flouncy and a loose hemline style of shorts would be best. As you have broad shoulders, we are trying to balance out your proportions, so a bit of volume on your bottom half will do the trick. Horizontal stripes will also create the illusion of wider hips. Team with a fitted top to finish off your look.
You have killer legs for shorts so show them off. Go for a pair that hits your upper thigh, a high-waisted pair would look great on you, just make sure they are not too tight on the thigh and go for a flat front pair that are more forgiving.
All the above are simply guidelines, but rules are made to be broken. At the end of the day if you feel comfortable in any type of shorts just do you and “work it girl”, summer is not here for long, let’s make the most of it.
